This project was initiated in response to challenges with existing attendance recording practices among staff at Sultan Idris Education University. Conventional attendance systems relying on physical readers have become obsolete, with aging hardware failing to deliver cost-effective or reliable performance. A modern solution known as GeoAttendance was developed as an innovative attendance recording system leveraging geolocation technology promoting sustainable practices, supports work-life balance, reduces administrative burdens, and enhances transparency. It aligns with Smart Campus initiatives, combined with its Technology Readiness Level (TRL)-9 maturity, making it a strategic tool for digital transformation across public institutions in Malaysia and other sectors.
