Global plastic accumulation has become increasingly severe due to the material’s durability and low production cost. Pyrolysis is an advanced solution that converts mixed plastic waste into valuable oil, but is limited to only three types: PE, PP, and PS. PET, a widely used plastic, is unsuitable and is excluded. Our innovation, CORNERSTONE, integrates pyrolysis with PET biorecycling and an AI-powered sorting system to expand the range of recyclable plastics. PET is enzymatically broken into original monomers, while other plastics undergo pyrolysis. This system increases recycling rates, produces high-quality outputs, and significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
