Despite high rainfall, Malaysia faces water quality issues due to acidic urban rainwater from air pollution. This study developed and tested a residential rainwater harvesting and filtration system. Model B, with an integrated drainage system, collected water more efficiently than Model A. Six filters using activated carbon and limestone were tested. A 50:50 mix raised pH from 4.1 to 7.11 and kept TDS at 136 ppm. Field testing in Taman Nilam, Pontian, Johor confirmed effectiveness, increasing pH from 6.33 to 7.74. The system provides a sustainable, low-cost solution for neutralizing acidic rainwater and ensuring safe, palatable water for household use in urban areas.
