Shaira Camille Gabito TAGUIG INTEGRATED SCHOOL
This study aims to create a biodegradable food packaging pouch made from orange (Citrus sinensis) and latundan banana (Musa acuminata × M. balbisiana) peels. The materials used are orange (Citrus sinensis) and latundan banana (Musa acuminata × M. balbisiana) peels, cornstarch, and vinegar, with equipment including a boiling pot, blender, and mixing utensils. The results showed good durability and structural stability, with no signs of rotting or foul odor observed throughout the week despite the color changing. Thus, the biodegradable food packaging pouch presents potential as an eco-friendly alternative to the synthetic plastic food packaging pouch available in the market.
