Zymagic Block is an innovative, eco-friendly organic enzymatic solution developed to eliminate unpleasant odors pollution in school environments, targeting areas such as toilets, clothing, waste disposal sites, animal faeces and even human axilla. Developed from enzymatic fermentation of organic waste specifically leftover fruit peels, palm sugar, and salt. This project transforms food waste into a sustainable, solid deodorizing block using glycerin. It aligns with the IDEAL concept (Innovative, Dynamic, Efficient, Natural, Sustainable), addressing hygiene concerns while promoting environmental stewardship and public awareness. Odor pollution has become a growing concern in schools, particularly in areas near toilets and waste disposal sites, negatively affect daily comfort and learning conditions. Zymagic Block offer a cost-effective and biodegradable alternative to chemical-based cleaners, eliminating bad smells and functioning as multipurpose agents for personal hygiene, household cleaning, and even as natural fertilizers. The project directly supports Sustainable Development Goal 12 : Responsible Consumption and Production by converting food waste into valuable resources, thus reducing chemical usage and promoting green practices. Zymagic Block initiative is student-led and community-oriented, involving the collection of raw materials from school canteens and homes. Its effectiveness has been validated through feedback via Google Forms and user interviews with users reporting significant odor reduction and appreciation for its organic composition. Disseminated through platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook, the project raises awareness about environmental health, the benefits of fruit peel recycling, and even axilla cancer prevention. Zymagic Block exemplify how youth-led innovation can foster sustainability, hygiene and environmental consciousness within and beyond the school community.
