LISSA is an innovative framework designed to support listening comprehension in ESL contexts through five integrated processes: Listen, Identify, Summarise, Strategies, and Answer. This structured approach equips learners with the cognitive and metacognitive skills necessary for effective listening, encouraging active engagement, focused attention, and confident responses. Grounded in second language acquisition theory, LISSA addresses common challenges faced by ESL learners by promoting clarity, comprehension, and strategic listening behaviours. This video presentation introduces LISSA as a pedagogical tool aimed at improving listening performance and fostering learner autonomy in ESL classrooms.
